About House of Couture Designs
Established in 2017, House of Couture Designs began as a small side street store in Sewickley. By 2018, the business blossomed, relocating to a storefront on Sewickley’s main street. With the invaluable support of the community, we took a bold step forward, transitioning to a spacious 4,000-square-foot store at McCandless Crossings in 2022.
Meet the Owner
Skye has spent the last 36 years in the bridal industry and she’s enjoyed every moment of it. Skye started at the age of 17 working at a small store in western Pennsylvania and was managing 3 stores by the age of 19. At 25 she went off on her own, opening her first store and the next store at 28. During this time Skye married and had her daughter but at the age of 34 unfortunately lost everything in a divorce. During this time she had many different career paths which made her stronger but she was still styling and altering brides. In 2010 she started a full time alterations business and worked hard to achieve her dream.
In 2017 House of Couture Designs was born. It started as a small side street store in Sewickley and in 2018 the business moved and grew to a storefront on the main street of Sewickley. With everyone’s help, Skye took the leap and moved to a 4000 square foot store in McCandless Crossings in 2022.

Alex Casey
Head Stylist, Social Media Manager, Assistant Designer (She/Her)Alex Casey
With seven years of experience in the bridal industry, Alex has seamlessly transitioned from a talented designer to a skilled stylist. Guided by a passion for making the journey to find the perfect dress enjoyable, Alex is committed to finding you the dream gown you’ve been envisioning.
Drawing inspiration from the renowned fashion visionaries Alexander McQueen, Mugler, and Schiaparelli, Alex’s unique blend of creativity is rooted in her artistic influences. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Illustration from Columbus College of Art and Design, Alex brings a wealth of knowledge and a fresh perspective to the bridal fashion world.
Shannon Harrington
Seamstress (She/Her)Shannon Harrington
Shannon is an award winning fashion designer and seamstress with a bachelor’s degree from Kent State University. Her passion for evening gowns and high end women’s fashion brought her to the House of Couture team. Shannon has a very creative eye and will help alter or construct your gown to perfection.
Shannon also has a very specific passion for up cycling and sustainable fashion. “I believe that every dress (or garment) has another life or can be transformed in some way.”
Mikayla Harrington
Stylist and Wedding Photographer (She/They)Mikayla Harrington
With five years of dedicated experience in the bridal industry as a photographer and stylist, Mikayla Harrington excels in dressing clients from head to toe and capturing their precious memories. Her genuine passion lies in assisting people in discovering their perfect style.
Inspired by the iconic Billy Porter, Mikayla brings a unique touch to her work, infusing her creations with the same bold and expressive style that characterizes Porter’s influential fashion sense.
Alexis (Lexi) Clifford
Stylist (She/Her)Alexis (Lexi) Clifford
Alexis has been in the retail industry for over 6 years, although this is her first time working with bridal clients. She is passionate about helping people find their perfect fit, and shares in the excitement of the search! Alexis loves to make connections and to get to know her clients to personalize every experience.
Alexis’s favorite designer is Kate Spade.
